In Jeremiah 1:1-5 and Psalm 139:1-24, we see God's view on life in the womb. In Deuteronomy 6:1-25, the Bible talks about a parent's duty to their child in regards to teaching them God's word.


The Old Testament Genesis 11:1-9 and Judges 15:1-20 give us examples of how achievements from human effort affects man and God. Jesus (Mark 10:35-45) and Paul (Romans 3:21-31) have a much different take on achievement.


The Old Testament contains many warnings about the consequences of adultery and Genesis 35:22, Numbers 5:31. Proverbs 2:22; 5:3-10; 5:22-23; 23:27; 31:3 has many warnings for men to avoid promiscuous women. See also Ezekiel 23:25. Matthew 19:1-9 clarifies God's position on adultry, and Jesus responds in an unexpected way to individuals wanting to bring an adulterous woman to "justice" in John 8:1-11.


The Old and New Testaments have a consistent message about alcohol. It definitely has a use, but avoid over-consumption. See Genesis 9:20-29, Proverbs 3:10; 9:2,5; 31:1-9; 4:17; 21:17; 23:29-35, John 2:1-11, Ephesians 5:15-20, 1 Timothy 5:23.

Basics of Faith

The Old Testament stories serve as an example of the faith God desires from his children. In particular, read Genesis 22:1-19. The New Testament holds the keys to the basics of the Christian Faith. Read John 3:16, 1 John 2:18-29, 1 Peter 1:3-16, Romans 3:19 and 20, Romans 4:3.

Belief / Believe

These verses give a good overview of what it means to believe: Romans 10:5-13, Deuteronomy 27:1-10, Genesis 15:1-6, James 2:14-24. James gives us a stern warning about believing and not acting.


These verses tell us why we have the Bible, who is responsible for the content, and how the Bible story unfolded: 2 Peter 1:12-21, 2 Timothy 3:10-17, Psalm 119:1-176, Matthew 5:17-20, Hebrews 1:1-3.


Solomon talks much of busyness and toiling "under the sun", and the results, see Ecclesiastes 11:1-6; 4:4-8; 2:17-26. Jesus indicates what our priorities should be. Luke 10:38-42.

These verses contrast the penalty of death through Adam with the power over death through Jesus Christ. Read Romans 5:12-21, Psalm 23:1-6, Hebrews 9:23-28, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, Matthew 20:20-28, John 12:20-36, 1 Corinthians 1:18-31.

Genesis 3:1-24 tells us where doubting originates from. The following Old Testament verses give us examples of godly men having doubts in extrodinary circumstances, even after witnessing miracles: Numbers 11:4-32, Job 23:1-17, Malachi 3:13-16. The following New Testament verses give us examples of doubters and Jesus' reaction. We also see God's instructions for living a life free of doubt: Luke 4:1-13, Luke 7:18-35, John 21:15-17, Matthew 17:14-23, James 1:2-8.


Evidence to believe in God is out there, we simply need to interpret the evidence with faith from God. Sounds like circular reasonins, but look at these verses to help you out with bible verse by subject of evidence: Luke 11:29-32, John 12:37-50, Acts 14:8-20.


Psalms 106:7-43 gives a brief history if Israels failures and God's responses. Joshua 8:1-29 shows us how God reacts after we repent of a past failure. Luke 22:54-62 shows us that anybody can fail. Matthew 1:1-17 is the geneology of Jesus. Many of the people God used to bring Jesus into the world had failed miserably which shows that God can and will still use people who fail to accomplish his will.
