world abstract In this ever increasing "spiritual society", many people want to see God modern day.

They want something that they can "take to the bank" or, solid proof that God exists, if you will.

Where's God?

God tells us in Malachi 3:6, "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed."

People have a hard time understanding that the same God we see in the Bible, throughout the history of man, is still with us today. He hasn't changed. He still loves us, still teaches us, punishes us when we need it, and rewards us when we need it (or if He feels like it, I suppose).

When I see this type of question come up, I can only imagine that people are looking for the big miracles of the Bible.

Why doesn't God part the Red Sea any more?

Because he doesn't need to.

God accomplished what he wanted to accomplish when he parted the Red Sea the first time.

That said, I'm 100% sure that God still performs miracles for his children every day. I've heard so many stories of God/Jesus inserting Himself into various situations, where one or more people stand in awe at what just happened.

Unlike the Israelites of the day, we have the benefit of reading about God's miracles, and we also have the option to believe whether they actually happened.

I personally have experienced Jesus' hand in my life on a number of occasions, and in different ways.

Notice the word "personally". I used that word purposefully because I wanted to lead into another point: My God is a personal God.

God deals with me one on one. I talk to Him, lay my problems on Him, and thank Him for the things He's done (or the things He hasn't done - but that's a whole other article!). When I screw up, He lets me know in various ways, but it's always personal.

Why haven't I experienced God personally?

First of all, are you sure you haven't? Maybe you have experienced His grace but didn't believe it at the time or, you never thought that God was in the situation at all.

Are there situations in your life that you didn't think you would get through but did nonetheless? Do you suppose God was looking out for you?

Something I would be remiss to leave out is the fact that, maybe you haven't allowed God in your life to perform any personal miracles. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior?

God is just waiting to do something for you, if you would only trust him.

So what's my point?

My point is, God doesn't change. He has always been a personal God, and continues to deal with each one of us personally.

If you are a Christian and want to see God modern day, look back at your life, see God in the whispers (they may turn into shouts upon reflection).

If you aren't a Christian, and want to see God modern day, I'm afraid you'll need to take a leap of faith in God before you'll see Him in any situation (which doesn't mean he hasn't been there all along).

Whether you believe it or not, God is there; helping, healing, and reaching out.

You can take that to the bank!
